Decking - Rules
We have now gained planning permission (after a long consultation period) from the Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park Authority allowing decking on Broad Haven Holiday Park.
The planning authority is very strict on what is and is not permitted. I am also going to be very strict on what is allowed, as I do not want the park ending up looking like a shantytown, to this end decking will only be supplied from our approved supplier through Broad Haven Holiday Park.
Decking Rules: -
1. Decking cannot be erected without the park management’s agreement.
2. Decking will only be supplied from Broad Haven Holiday Parks approved supplier through Broad Haven Holiday Park.
3. Decks must be made of wood.
4. The colour of the decking must be left natural using clear preservative.
NO PAINT.
5. The maximum width is 2 meters; this may be less if circumstances demand.
6. The decking including steps etc must stop 61cm (about 2ft) from the front and rear of the caravan.
7. The gap from the decking to the neighbouring caravan cannot be less than 3.5 meters. (Which may affect No.5 above)
8. Steps and ramps must fit within the area shown above. (5, 6 & 7)
9. Decking can only be placed along the door side of the caravan.
10. Decking is not allowed at the front (tow bar), rear or non-door side of the caravan.
11. Steps or ramps may be at either end of the deck, not at the side.
12. Sides above or below the deck level may not be solid (must be slatted).
13. Storage is not permitted below the decking.
14. That the deck or any part of it cannot be enclosed or roofed.
15. There is little scope for individuality in the design of the decking, all decks must/will conform to a standard.
16. Do it yourself decks will not be allowed.
Things to remember: -
1. Sooner or later it will have to be moved, to allow your caravan to be moved. This will involve a cost (to you), as will repositioning it along side the new caravan.
2. That it may not be possible to transfer a deck to another caravan or another pitch. If it is possible, moving and alterations (if necessary) will be charged for.
3. That it will have to be maintained in a good condition and must not detract from the park.
4. That mains service boxes etc. cannot be moved to accommodate decking.
5. To consider the positioning of your locker box. This cannot go along side the next caravan.
6. You still need to park and gain access to your parking area. In the long run parking is/will be more important to you and your visitors.
7. Remember that you must not park to close to your neighbour’s caravan.
8. The parks management’s decision is final. |
